- John Gray Photo Dept. Scholarship

- Beginning Photography Student Scholarship

Open to all Moorpark College Photography Students

Deadline will be posted spring semester each year

Submit the following:

- Application form

- Statement

- Portfolio of ten finished prints

Portfolio Guidelines:
A portfolio consists of a group of finished photographs presented in a finished form. Prints should either be mounted and stored inside a portfolio box, or unmounted in a suitable portfolio binder or book.
The photographs in your portfolio should be thematically and/or stylistically consistent in order to form a cohesive group and maximize the impact of your portfolio.

All prints should be of the highest quality that you are capable of producing. Submittal of prints to this competition implies your consent to use your pictures on the department web site.

Statement Guidelines:
Your statement about your photographs should include your thoughts on what they are about, your intentions in producing them, and anything else that might help the viewer understand them. Saying that "the work speaks for itself" is not good enough.

Your statement should touch on who you are and what your goals and inspirations in photography are. The statement should be between one and two typewritten pages long.
